There were controversies - unfounded, some would say - when Raymond Lam was awarded "The Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer in the Asia Pacific Region" two years in a row on TVB's Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards. Now the hot Hong Kong singer/actor is out to prove a point with the release of his long-awaited first Mandarin album. Aptly titled First, the album is a collection of 10 new songs tailor-made to Raymond's magnetic voice. The heartfelt ballad "Let Me Love You For An Hour" comes to be the first plug and is followed by the up-tempo number "One More Time". Some of Raymond's biggest Cantonese hits are also adapted into Mandarin here, such as "Another Way To Love You" and "Love Searching For You In Memories".

After his year-long world concert tour with SuperBand, Taiwan rock musician A-yue Chang has come up with his latest solo mini-album Empty Handed. For this release, he has chosen five unused (but nonetheless excellent) songs from his huge stack of demo tapes over the years, which represent some of his personal views of life, love, friendship, work, and the man himself. The track list includes the humorous OK 2010 based on A-yue's observations of modern relationships, the urban electro-folk number "Empty Handed" he wrote to encourage the troubled youngsters today, and the heartfelt "The Feelings I Want" which is a soothing ballad originated from his private feelings.

Big Bang is back! Though Big Bang has certainly stayed busy with concert tours and solo and Japan activities since their third mini album, it's a new Korean album that fans have been clamoring for. Now the wait is finally over! Big Bang is releasing their fourth mini album, their first Korean album in over two years. Leader G-Dragon continues to be the creative driving force of the group, as he participated in the songwriting for all six of the album's tracks. T.O.P also penned rap for most of the songs. Big Bang will be rocking the night this time with the title song Tonight. The mini-album also includes the Korean versions of Hands Up and Somebody To Love, previously featured on their Japanese single releases.

Stylish Canto-pop singer Kary Ng, formerly a member of girl group Cookies, is going to have her first solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum on January 30, 2011. Accompanying the Kary On Live concert is the release of her latest album titled Carry On, coming out around five months after her collaboration EP with indie punk band Hardpack. Kary's new album consists of eight tracks, including the hit main plug "I Silly Girl" written for her by composer Ronald Ng and lyricist Lin Xi, plus Carry On and Love More.
